WALTER BYERS POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE - 1996-97 ANNUAL REPORT

The committee held a teleconference on March 19, 1997, and met on April 6 and 7, 1997, in St. Louis, Missouri. Committee actions are as follows:

1. The committee selected three male and three female finalists for the scholarship. The male finalists were:

- Bryan Graham, Tufts University;

- Scott Keane, University of Cincinnati, and

- Timothy Tibesar, University of North Dakota.

The female finalists were:

- Christina Jill Burness, Texas Technological University;

- Heidi Jarecki, University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, and,

- Marya Morusiewicz, Barry University.

After interviewing the finalists, the committee selected Mr. Keane and Ms. Morusiewicz as the 1997 award winners.

2. The committee agreed to provide 1996 awardee Christopher Palmer with a second year grant.

3. The committee recommended that the stipend be increased to $12,500.
