Q: What is the purpose of the Conference Intern Seminar?
A: The purpose of CIS is to provide an educational experience, which facilitates dialogue and creates awareness regarding social and legislative issues confronting intercollegiate athletics and to advance the individual's personal and professional development within athletics administration. Furthermore, we wish to provide each attendee the opportunity to further polish their networking skills and make connections.
Q: Who can attend?
A: CIS is open to all current interns of Division I, II, and III conference offices, institutional interns, graduate students, and anyone interested in working in collegiate athletics.
Q: How old do I have to be to attend?
A: For planning and legal purposes, we are requiring all attendees be 21 or older.
Q: What is the attire?
A: To assist our participants in packing, we would like to make the following dress recommendations. Casual business attire is suggested for all sessions and luncheons. This would include a collar/ button down shirt for the men and slacks/skirt or a dress for the women.
Q: What does the registration fee cover?
A: In addition to the cost of the seminar, registration fees will cover lodging, food and entertainment, and supplies.
Q: If I can't check into the hotel upon arrival, will there be a place at the National Office to put my luggage?
A: Yes, we will provide a luggage storage room on the first and last days of the seminar.
Q: If I am a commuter, where do I need to park my car during the conference and do I have to pay for parking?
A: If you are a commuter, we ask that you park in the White River State Park Parking Garage located adjacent to the National Office. We will provide you with a voucher for each day of CIS. Please follow this link for more information: White River State Park
Q: What should I bring?
A: It is a good idea to consider the weather when packing (you will have to walk a short distance from the hotel to the office). In addition to, it is always suggested that you bring your business cards when attending any conference.
