
REGISTRATION CRITERIA
How are participants selected?
Directors of athletics are encouraged to select student-athletes, coaches, administrators and faculty with a diverse representation of experiences who will have a positive influence on campus and within the community. The Leadership Academy is a unique educational opportunity which requires diversity and inclusion.
Directors of athletics must select a team of three individuals according to the following compositional requirements:
Institutional Requirements:
- Each institution must select one female and one male student-athlete.
(Single-gender institutions may select two student-athletes of the same gender.) - One coach, administrator or faculty member.
- At least one of the three participants must be a person of color or international representative (international status based on country of primary citizenship).
- The student-athlete participants must represent different NCAA-sponsored sports.
Participant Eligibility Requirements:
- A student-athlete participant must have athletics eligibility and be participating in a NCAA-sponsored sport during the 2007-08 academic year.
- A student-athlete participant must be in good academic standing according to the institution's requirements.
- All participants must have demonstrated the ability or a strong desire to lead.
- All participants selected are expected to participate in all activities.
- All participants are expected to implement their team-directed action plan and personal development plan within the 2007-08 or 2008-09 academic years.
