The NCAA Men's and Expert Football Coaching Academies will assist minority football coaches who have a desire to secure head football coaching positions. All programs within the Academies will be administered by the NCAA with support from the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), the Black Coaches Association (BCA) and the National Football League (NFL).

Men's Football Coaching Academy

The 2007 online application is now available.  Interested applicants must have at least one to eight years college football coaching experience.

The Men's Football Coaching Academy will be held June 30-July 2, 2007IndianapolisIndiana. The Academy is designed to improve and reinforce various aspects of securing, managing and excelling in head football coaching positions at the intercollegiate level.

Recognized football coaches, leaders in athletics and higher education will serve as faculty for the three-day workshop.  There are no registration fees to attend and the Academy will provide meals and program materials.  The participant shall provide travel and lodging costs.  Participants may receive a lodging stipend to defray costs.

Expert Football Coaching Academy

The 2007 online application is now available.  Interested applicants must have at least eight years of college football coaching experience.

The Expert Football Coaching Academy will be held May 31-June 3, 2007 in MiamiFlorida in conjunction with the Black Coaches Association annual convention. The Academy is designed to improve and reinforce various aspects of securing, managing and excelling in head football coaching positions at the intercollegiate level.

Recognized football coaches, leaders in athletics and higher education will serve as faculty for the three-day workshop.  There are no registration fees to attend and the Academy will cover travel, lodging, meals and provide program materials.

Workshop topics will focus on:

Communication - networking, booster relations, interviewing skills, and building a portfolio.

Fiscal Responsibilities - fundraising, budgeting and development.

Building a Successful Program - managing coaching staffs, building a portfolio (game strategy), maintaining relationships with chief executive officers, athletic directors, alumni, student-athletes, faculty and members of the community. 

Compliance Considerations - gambling issues, NCAA rules and regulations/infractions, agents, choices/consequences, and integrity.

Academic Issues - academic support, academic fraud, retention, NCAA rules and regulations, academic success.
