The NCAA Web site has recently transitioned.  In that regard, this page is no longer accurate and up to date.  Please update your bookmarks to point to

As a condition of NCAA certification, activity operators agree to operate their activities in accordance with the applicable legislation and certification requirements.  With the transition to an online certification process and the discontinuation of paper mailings that would have included such information, the Basketball Certification Web site has become an essential bulletin board of information to participants affected by certification.

Activity operators are responsible for knowing and operating their activities in accordance with information posted on the NCAA Basketball Certification Web site and are encouraged to frequent the site for changes that may occur.  Activity operators will be held accountable to all information posted on these pages.

Failure to adhere to these requirements will result in the denial of present and/or future certification.

    2.    The event operator must provide proof of medical insurance coverage for event participants.

FOR SPRING APPLICATIONS - Due the timeliness of this change, the BBCS is not prepared to accept the proof of insurance at this time.  In that regard, proof of insurance will need to be submitted outside of the online process.  It is recommended that all documents be sent to the basketball certification staff via traceable delivery (i.e., FedEx, DHL, certified mail, etc.) as it is the operator's responsibility to verify and produce proof of a timely submission.  If the documents are sent via facsimile, please keep verification of the transmission.  The BBCS will be updated prior to the summer season so that the proof of insurance documentation can be scanned and uploaded as part of the application process.
