Information for Provisional Institutions
Please note: An institution completing the exploratory process with intentions of becoming a provisional member must submit a formal confirmation of its intent to become an active Division I member and present a basic strategic plan that addresses the Division I philosophy statement and certification operating principles not later than June 1.
As a part of the NCAA provisional membership, your institution must submit an annual report and strategic plan to the NCAA Division I Management Council Membership Subcommittee detailing your progress as a provisional member.

Pursuant to Division I Bylaw 20.3.2, an institution seeking NCAA Division I status, is required to submit by June 1 a strategic plan each year of the seven year process.
Information for Reclassifying Institutions
Please note: An institution completing the exploratory process with intentions to reclassify to Division I must submit a formal confirmation of its intent to reclassify and present a basic strategic plan that addresses the Division I philosophy statement and certification operating principles not later than June 1.

Annual Report
The completed report, including all supporting documents (e.g., compliance worksheets) must be completed, signed by the appropriate institutional officials and returned not later than June 1. If the institution is also reclassifying one or two sports via the multidivisional process the corresponding multidivisional annual report is also required; however, only the submission of one strategic plan for the entire program is necessary.
