ACTION ITEMS.
1. Automatic
Qualification.
a. Recommendation. That the following conferences be approved for automatic qualification for the 2007 championship: Atlantic Coast Conference, America East Conference, Big East Conference, Big Ten Conference, Colonial Athletic Association. The play-in games will be the Atlantic 10 Conference at the Ivy Group, the Northeast Conference at the Northern Pacific Field Hockey Conference and the Patriot League at the Mid-American Conference.
b. Rationale. These recommendations are based on the 2007 conference alignments and the final Rating Percentage Index for 2006.
c. Estimated Budget Impact. None.
d. Student-Athlete Impact. None.
2. Selection
Criteria.
a. Recommendation. That the criteria for including results against teams already selected be removed from the selection criteria effective with the 2007 championship.
b. Rationale. The committee believes that removal of this criteria will continue to enhance the championship selection process.
c. Estimated Budget Impact. None.
d. Student-Athlete Impact. None.
