COMMITTEE INFORMATION FOR INDIVIDUALS INTERESTED IN POSSIBLY SERVING ON NCAA COMMITTEES

NUMBER OF COMMITTEE MEMBERS:

• 18 [includes 2  student-athletes]
  

GENERAL DUTIES OF COMMITTEE MEMBERS:

• To ensure appropriate oversight of the sport of men?s basketball is maintained, with emphasis on recruiting activities, enhancing the development and public perception of the sport and making recommendations on policy issues unrelated to legislative and playing rules changes
  

NUMBER OF IN-PERSON MEETINGS PER YEAR:

• One to two meetings a year.  Meetings generally are conducted in the spring after the conclusion of basketball season or in the fall before the beginning of the season.  Meeting length is generally one day.
  

NUMBER OF CONFERENCE CALLS PER YEAR:

• Approximately one or two (if a conference call will replace an in-person meeting).
