The meeting was called to order Friday, January 5 at 7 p.m. by the chair, Ms. Hickey. All members noted above were present.

1. Opening remarks. Kate Hickey, as chair, acknowledged and welcomed the Management Council along with the alternates.

2. Report on the work of the Diversity Leadership Strategic Planning Committee. Vice president for Diversity and Inclusion Charlotte Westerhaus presented this report along with Management Council member Damon Evans who also served on this committee.

3. Review of findings from the GOALS & SCORE Study. NCAA research staff members Todd Petr, Tom Paskus along with Jack McArdle, professor of psychology at the University of Southern California, presented preliminary findings associated with these two studies.

4. Update from the Committee on Academic Performance (CAP). University of Hartford president Walter Harrison presents this report with the help of NCAA staff liaisons Julie Cromer, Kevin Lennon, Diane Dickman, and Bill Regan.

5. News regarding the NCAA Amateurism Certification process. NCAA Membership Services vice president Kevin Lennon and membership services director Bill Saum presented this update.

6. Update from the 2006 Division I Regional Leadership Conference. NCAA staff member Curtis Holloman along with Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee members Beth Waggoner from Winthrop University representing the Big South Conference and Megan McGrane of the University of Pittsburgh representing the Big East Conference discussed the Division I Regional Leadership Conference. Management Council member Peg Hefferan, Carolyn Campbell-McGovern, Bob Driscoll and Greg Sankey also share their experiences at the conference.
