RE: Budget for 2005-2006 NCAA Grant
The Division II Athletic Directors Association is committed to enhancing athletic programs at NCAA Division II member institutions. The association developed guiding principles for the operation of a model Division II athletics department and we would like to use the NCAA grant money to support institutions as they work to integrate those principles.
The NCAA grant funds for the Division II ADA will support the following initiatives. It must be noted that these are estimated expenses and may be different for the current year as well as subsequent years, after the strategic planning process is completed.
$15,000 Division
II
The development of a strategic plan for the D-II ADA is necessary to move the association to a position of prominence in the leadership of Division II athletics. The association must consider how it can best support the Model Athletics Department through professional developmental activities and organizational structure.
$5,000 Professional Development Programming for Athletic Directors
The association would like to enhance the programming at the annual NACDA convention with sessions that are specific to the roles of D-II AD?s. The programming will be done with emphasis on topics that support the Model Department Guiding Principles. This will be done in conjunction with the Division II members of the NACDA Executive Committee.
$12,600 Support for AD Professional Development
The association will provide stipends for one AD from each conference and one for the independent institutions to attend the annual NACDA convention. The recipient would be required to attend the Division II development sessions. This would provide support for each conference and independent group to have a member attend the NACDA convention. The stipend would include convention registration and $250 to assist with expenses.
$5,000 Athletic Directors Association Outreach
This would cover the costs of enhancing the D-II ADA webpage, updating surveys, membership solicitation materials and an awards program for athletic programs who are demonstrating the guiding principles of a model Division II program.
$12,400 Developmental and Education Opportunities for D-II AD?s
The strategic plan that will be developed will provide the
details for this component. Options that
will be considered will be the development of a CD-ROM that focuses on the
Model Department Guiding Principles, stipends to cover on-line certification
courses provided by NACDA and the
