2.         Acting for the Division III Management Council and Presidents Council, the Administrative Committee rescinded the appointment of Larry Hiser, director of athletics, Endicott College, to the Division III Baseball Committee.  According to NCAA Bylaw 21.8.1.3 (vacancies), a representative of a playing conference or member institution whose term of service on a committee has expired shall not be replaced on that committee by another representative of the same conference or institution for a period of at least one year.  Under this bylaw, Mr. Hiser is not eligible to serve on the committee.

3.         Acting for the Division III Management Council and Presidents Council, the Administrative Committee did not consider Val Belmonte, director of athletics, Union College (New York), for the vacancy on the Division III Women’s Ice Hockey Committee, as previously recommended by the Division III Nominating Committee.  Beginning in 2003-04, Union College will sponsor Division I women’s ice hockey.  With that change in sponsorship, Mr. Belmonte would not be eligible to serve on the Division III Women’s Ice Hockey Committee, and, therefore, his appointment would only be for one year
