MINUTES OF THE

NCAA DIVISION III ADMINISTRATIVE COMMITTEE CONFERENCE NO. 5

Those participating were Susan Bassett, Division III Management Council vice-chair; Marcia Kierscht, Division III Management Council; Bette Landman, Division III Presidents Council chair; John McCardell, Division III Presidents Council vice-chair; Christopher Walker, Division III Management Council chair; Dan Dutcher, NCAA; and Bridget Belgiovine, NCAA, recording secretary.

Acting for the Division III Management Council and Presidents Council, the Administrative Committee:

1. Approved the recommendation to appoint the following individuals to fill vacancies on the following Division III sports committees:

a. Baseball – Russell Rogers, director of athletics, Stevens Institute of Technology; Joseph Tonelli, director of athletics, Albertus Magnus College. Both terms expire September 2006

b. Women’s Basketball – Cathie Schweitzer, director of athletics, Springfield College (term expires September 2006); Vicki Staton, senior woman administrator and coach, Washington and Jefferson College (term expires September 2005). [NOTE: It was subsequently noted that Ms. Stanton is not eligible since she is no longer coaching basketball.)

c. Football – James Collins, coach, Capital University (term expires September 2003). Mr. Collins will be eligible for reelection.

d. Women’s Soccer – John Carter, coach, DePauw University; Jack Shafer, director of athletics, Widener University. Both terms expire September 2006.

The Administrative Committee noted concern for the lack of women nominees for the Women’s Soccer Committee.
