NCAA DIVISION III ADMINISTRATIVE COMMITTEE CONFERENCE NO. 3

Those participating were Michael Miranda, Division III Management Council chair; Douglas Hastad, Division III Management Council; Phillip Stone, Division III Presidents Council chair; Sandra Slabik, Division III Management Council vice-chair; Ivory Nelson, Division III
Presidents Council vice-chair; Dan Dutcher, NCAA; and Bridget Belgiovine, NCAA, recording secretary.

Acting for the Division III Management Council and Presidents Council, the Administrative Committee approved the following recommendations for appointment to the following committees. All appointment will be effective September 1, 2005, unless otherwise noted.

1. Division III Baseball Committee (three vacancies, including one immediate vacancy). Mideast REGION – Rick Espeset, baseball coach, Manchester College; South region – Tom Austin, head baseball coach, Methodist College; John McCloskey, director of athletics, Alvernia College, replacing Gregory Kannerstein.

2. Division III Men’s Basketball Committee (two vacancies). Great Lakes region – James Dafler, director of athletics, Westminster College (Pennsylvania); Atlantic region - Steven Schulman, head men’s basketball coach, Lehman College, City University of New York.

3. Division III Women’s Basketball Committee (one reappointment and one immediate vacancy). Mid-Atlantic region – Yvonne Kauffman, Elizabethtown College (reappointment); Jane Hildebrand, associate director of athletics/women’s basketball coach, Luther College, replacing Brad White.

4. Division III Football Committee (two vacancies). North region – Dick Kaiser, director of athletics, Defiance College; South region – Steve Mohr, head football coach, Trinity University (Texas).

5. Division III Men’s Golf Committee (reappointment). Dennis Bridges, Illinois Wesleyan University.

6. Division III Women’s Golf Committee. Region 1 – Lisa Melendy, senior woman administrator/associate director of athletics, Williams College.

7. Men’s Gymnastics Committee. Stephen Posner, gymnastics coach, Springfield College.

8. Division III Men’s Ice Hockey Committee. East region – Allan MacCormack, head hockey coach, Lebanon Valley College.

9. Division III Women’s Ice Hockey Committee. Bill Kronschnabel, commissioners, Northern Collegiate Hockey Association.

10. Division III Men’s Lacrosse Committee (two vacancies). North region – Tom Gill, assistant director of athletics, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy; South region – Michael Murphy, head lacrosse coach, Haverford College.

11. Division III Women’s Lacrosse Committee. New York region – Shannon McHale, head women’s soccer and lacrosse coach, St. John Fisher College.

12. Division III Women’s Rowing Committee. Karen Carpenter Klinger, head rowing coach, Smith College.

13. Men’s and Women’s Skiing Committee. East region – Mark Godomsky, head men’s and women’s alpine ski coach, Colby College.

14. Division III Men’s Soccer Committee (three vacancies). New England region – Joe Hakes, director of athletics, Gordon College; Northeast region – Andy Jennings, head men’s soccer coach, Vassar College; Great Lakes region – Dwight Burgess, head soccer coach, Capital University.

15. Division III Women’s Soccer Committee (four vacancies, including one immediate vacancy). Immediate vacancy replacing Stephanie Webb, South region – Heather Somers, senior women administrator/head volleyball coach, Randolph-Macon Woman’s College. September 2005 vacancies: West region – Jen Scanlon, head women’s soccer coach, Pomona-Pitzer Colleges. New England region – Tracey Ranieri, senior associate director of athletics/soccer coach, State University College at Oneonta.

16. Division III Softball Committee (two vacancies). West region – Tracy Hoffman, head softball coach, University of Texas at Dallas; Atlantic region – Penny Siqueiros, head softball coach, Emory University.

17. Division III Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Committee. Men’s interests, Mideast region – Jon Cutright, head men’s/women’s cross country/track coach, Juniata College. Women’s interests, New England region – Ned Bishop, women’s cross country coach, Connecticut College.

18. Division III Women’s Volleyball Committee (two vacancies). New York region – J.J. O’Connell, head volleyball coach, Stevens Institute of Technology; Great Lakes region – Michele Benoit, senior woman administrator/head volleyball coach, College of Mount St. Joseph.

19. Women’s Water Polo Committee. Joseph Martin, assistant director of athletics, Wheaton College (Illinois).

20. Division III Wrestling Committee. East region – Troy Dell, assistant director of athletics/head wrestling coach, Gettysburg College.

21. Baseball Rules Committee. George Valesente, head baseball coach, Ithaca College.

22. Men’s Basketball Rules Committee. Dick Hack, director of athletics/basketball coach, Medaille College.

23. Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey Rules Committee. At-large position (men’s interests) – Dan Stauber, head men’s hockey coach, University of Wisconsin, Superior.

24. Men’s Lacrosse Rules Committee (three August 1, 2005, vacancies). Karen Borbee, senior woman administrator/head women’s lacrosse coach, Swarthmore College; Karen Hollands, head lacrosse coach, Ithaca College; and Christine Paradis, head women’s lacrosse coach, Amherst College.

25. Softball Rules Committee (one reappointment, one vacancy). Reappoint Lynn Oberbillig, director of athletics, Smith College. Appoint Shannon Piedmont-Farley, head softball coach, Emory and Henry College.

It was noted that the following nomination did not meet legislative requirements. This will be resubmitted to the Nominating Committee for reconsideration.

26. Division III Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Committee. Men’s interests – Dave Holland, head swimming coach, Randolph-Macon College. Women’s interests – Nancy Bigelow, women’s swimming coach, Tufts University.
