Acting for the Division III Management Council and Presidents Council, the Administrative Committee approved the following recommendations for the January 2007 committee vacancies:

1.      Division III Management Council (three vacancies).  The Nominating Committee reviewed the slate of nominees for the Management Council vacancies.  The committee gave serious consideration to the following committee policies (in priority order):  1) that candidates for Management Council have significant NCAA experience; and 2) that duplication of conferences
represented on the Presidents Council be avoided.  The committee also notes that nominations for the Management Council vacancies were solicited three times.  After lengthy deliberation, the committee recommended the following candidates:

a.         Daniel Fulks, faculty athletics representative, Transylvania University (Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference).  [NOTE:  The committee recognizes that the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference is currently represented on the Presidents
Council.]

b.         Susan Chapman, director of athletics, Worcester State College (Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference).

c.         Lynn Oberbillig, director of athletics, Smith College (New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference).  Again, the committee notes that New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference is currently represented on the Presidents Council; however Ms. Oberbillig’s previous experience far outweighed the remainder of the nominees.

2.         Division III Financial Aid Committee (two vacancies).  Melissa Ibanez, director of financial aid, University of Pittsburgh, Bradford; and Joseph Onderko, executive director, Presidents’ Athletic Conference.

3.         Division III Nominating Committee (one vacancy).  Joanne Renn, associate director of
athletics/senior woman administrator, Virginia Wesleyan College.
