Conference Grant Programs to Support Student-Athlete Advisory Committees (SAAC) and Technology

2005-06 marked the fifth and final year of  the specific format for allocation of the two Division III grant programs to support two distinct kinds of efforts for Division III conferences. The first focuses on student-athlete well being by supporting conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committees (SAACs). The second focuses on membership education and communication by supporting the enhanced application of technology within each conference. 

Effective 2006-07, Division III resources to support Conference SAAC and technology will be allocated through the Division III Strategic Initiatives Conference Grant Program. This program is more encompassing and includes greater resources and an expectation for increased conference constituent involvement.

Guidelines

1. Any Division III voting conference (multisport) is qualified to participate in the grant program.
2. Any submission that meets the criteria can be funded. There is no comparison of one proposal against another.  Criteria include:  (a) completion of the Application Form on or before the due date; and (b) agreement to submit Conference Impact Form.
3. Each conference can submit one application for the SAAC grant program and one for the technology grant program.
4. Funding will be given for the period of one year. Basic funding levels are:  $10,000 per year per conference for the technology grant; and $100 per student for two student-athletes per institution for each conference member.
5. There is no guarantee of multiyear funding.
