MINUTES OF THE

NCAA DIVISION III ADMINISTRATIVE COMMITTEE CONFERENCE NO. 5

Those participating were Thomas Courtice, chair, Division III Presidents Council; Bette Landman, vice-chair, Division III Presidents Council; Oscar Page, vice-chair, Division III Management Council; Joy Reighn, chair, Division III Management Council; Christopher Walker, Division III Management Council; Dan Dutcher, NCAA; and Bridget Belgiovine, NCAA, recording secretary.

Acting for the Division III Management Council and Presidents Council, the Administrative Committee:

1. Approved the recommendation to appoint Shawn Eichorst, director of athletics, University of Wisconsin, Whitewater, to fill an immediate vacancy on the Division III Student-Athlete Reinstatement Committee. Mr. Eichorst’s term will expire January 2005.

2. Approved the recommendation to appoint the following individuals to fill immediate vacancies on the newly created Division III Women’s Ice Hockey Committee. Terms will be determined at a later date:

a. Al Bean, director of athletics, University of Southern Maine.

b. Sean Frazier, director of athletics, Manhattanville College.

c. Frank O’Brien, director of athletics, University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point.

d. Jill Pohtilla, coach, Augsburg College.

e. Donna Wright, coach, Wesleyan University.

3. Approved the recommendation to appoint the following individuals to fill immediate vacancies on the newly created Division III Women’s Rowing Committee. Terms will be determined at a later date:

a. Michael Alton, coach, Vassar College.

b. Mike Davenport, administrator/coach, Washington College.

c. Elizabeth Emery, coach, Wesleyan University.

d. Lynn Oberbillig, director of athletics, Smith College.

e. Judy McMullen, associate director of athletics, Lewis and Clark College.

f. Becky Robinson, coach, Ithaca College.

4. Approved the recommendation to appoint the following individuals to fill September 1, 2001, vacancies on the Division III Men’s Swimming and Diving Committee:

a. Peggy Carl, administrator/coach, Occidental College.

b. Brian Peticolas, coach, Principia College.

Ms. Carl’s and Mr. Peticolas’ terms will expire September 1, 2005.

5. Approved the recommendation to appoint William Preston, coach, Richard Stockton College, to fill a September 1, 2001, vacancy on the Division III Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Committee. Mr. Preston’s term will expire September 1, 2005.

6. Approved the recommendation to appoint Stephen Erber, director of athletics, Muhlenberg College, to fill a September 1, 2001, vacancy on the Division III Wrestling Committee. Mr. Erber’s term will expire September 1, 2005.
