NCAA Division III Interpretations and Legislation Committee

 

 

 

Duties.

The Interpretations and Legislation Committee shall determine interpretations of all Division III legislation.  The committee also shall review and refine legislative proposals, incorporate new legislation and interpretations, review deregulation issues and approve the publication of supplementary compilations of interpretations.

 

 

Composition.

The Interpretations and Legislation Committee shall consist of eight members.  One shall be a member of the Management Council, one shall be a student-athlete representative, one shall be a faculty-athletics representative, one shall be a conference administrator and at least one shall be a member of an ethnic minority.  At least three positions shall be allocated for men and at least three allocated for women.

 

 

Impact of ILC’s Deregulation on the NCAA Division III Manual.

Six-year deregulation effort has resulted in a total 40-page reduction or approximate 12 percent shrinkage of the NCAA Division III Manual:

·        1998-99 - Manual pages = 341

·        1999-00 - Manual pages = 339

·        2000-01 - Manual pages = 301

·        2001-02 - Manual pages = 305

·        2002-03 - Manual pages = 297
