NCAA DIVISION III ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW SUBCOMMITTEE OF THE

DIVISION III MANAGEMENT COUNCIL

INFORMATIONAL ITEM.

Summary of Cases. From January through May 31, 2002, the Division III Administrative Review Subcommittee and staff have reviewed 15 cases: two were granted, one was granted with conditions, two were staff denied due to subcommittee directives and 10 were denied (Attachment). The subcommittee received six requests involving Bylaw 14.2.4.1 (Minimum Amount of Competition). The following NCAA bylaws were cited in the 15 cases:

· Bylaw 14.1.7.2.2.1.1 (Nontraditional Academic Calendars or Cooperative Education Programs)

· Bylaw 14.1.8 (Graduate Student/Postbaccalaureate Participation)

· Bylaw 14.2.4.1 (Minimum Amount of Competition)

· Bylaw 14.5.5.1 (Four Year College Transfer – Academic Year in Residence)

· Bylaw 16.11.1.4 (Actual and Necessary Expenses – Outside Sports Teams)

· Bylaw 17.17.1 (Length of Playing Season – Skiing)

· Bylaw 30.7.7 (Foreign Tours – Practice Limitation)
