TENTATIVE TIME SCHEDULE
FOR SELECTION OF
PRESIDENT
NCAA
May 3, 2002
Baker-Parker calls membership representatives and reviews
attributes in preparation of writing a position specification.
Baker-Parker meets with Division I,II,and III Management
Councils and Student-Athlete representatives (SAAC) to review attributes in
preparation of writing a position specification.
Baker-Parker reports to search committee.
Baker-Parker meets with the NCAA staff to review attributes
in preparation of writing a position specification.
Baker-Parker meets with Division I, II, and III presidential
bodies to review attributes in preparation of writing a position specification.
Baker-Parker presents position specification and attributes
to Executive Committee and reviews advertising placement. Executive Committee approves search
process, search firm and position specification.
Advertisements placed. Advertisement locations to be
approved by the Executive Committee upon recommendation from Baker-Parker.
Baker-Parker presents progress reports to search committee,
by conference call.
Search committee selects 6-10 candidates for further
consideration and interviews. Baker-Parker will conduct preliminary referencing
prior to the interviews.
Search committee conducts first-round interviews of 6-10
candidates at various airport locations.
Search committee identifies top three candidates.
Baker-Parker will conduct final and comprehensive referencing on top three
candidates.
