SUBJECT: 2003 NCAA Convention Proposals Sponsored by the NCAA Division III Presidents Council.
Pursuant to NCAA Constitution 5.3.6.3.1.2,
proposed amendments sponsored by the NCAA Division III Presidents Council to be
considered by the NCAA Division III membership at an annual NCAA Convention
must be submitted not later than September 1. Attached are 11 proposals that the Presidents Council has
agreed to sponsor.
The following six
proposals were not reviewed by Management Council during its July
2002-meeting. However, the
Division III Administrative Committee approved these proposals prior to the
September 1 deadline for governance-sponsored legislation.
· Recruiting – definition of contact (page 3)
· Recruiting – eligibility ramifications -- restitution for improper benefit (page 5)
· Recruiting – de minimus violations (page 7)
· Playing and practice seasons – playing seasons regulations (page 14)
· National collegiate championships – women’s bowling (page 22)
· Executive regulations – selection of teams for championships participation -- automatic qualification (page 25)
