ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW SUBCOMMITTEE OF THE

NCAA DIVISION III MANAGEMENT COUNCIL

 

 

 

INFORMATIONAL ITEMS.

 

1. Summary of cases. From June 2, 2003, through August 31, 2003, the subcommittee and staff reviewed 10 cases: the subcommittee granted three and the staff granted two. Five cases were denied by the subcommittee (Attachment). The following NCAA bylaws were cited in the 10 cases:

 

?    Bylaw 13.12.2.3 (local sports club)

?    Bylaw 14.2.4.1 (minimum amount of competition)

?    Bylaw 14.5 (transfer regulations)

?    Bylaw 16.6.1.1.1 (immediate family member of student-athlete)

?    Bylaw 17.5.3 (men?s basketball first contest)

?    Bylaw 17.25.2 (men?s tennis ? preseason practice)

?    Bylaw 17.27.2 (women?s volleyball ? preseason practice)

 

2. October 2003 meeting. The subcommittee will meet October 21 for its annual meeting to discuss various issues which will be reported on at the January 2004 Management Council meeting.
