SUBJECT:      2005 NCAA Convention Information.

 

 

This memorandum is being sent to the members of the NCAA Division III Management Council to provide information concerning the 99th NCAA Convention, which will be held in Grapevine, Texas, January 7-10, 2005.  The headquarters hotel will be the Gaylord Texan Resort near the Dallas/Fort Worth airport.  Your meeting is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. Friday, January 8, 2005.  A Division III Convention plan is attached.

 

Short’s Travel will provide online Convention registration for delegates.  If you will represent your institution or conference as a delegate at the NCAA Convention, it is essential that you complete the online registration process by Monday, December 20, 2004.  We are pleased to provide NCAA Convention information, registration materials and the Appointment of Delegate(s) Form via the Internet.  Typing in this hot link:

will give you access to all registration materials and hotel reservation information for the 2005 NCAA Convention.  Once you access the link, select Convention Registration from the menu of items to register for the Convention and obtain hotel accommodations.

 

 

Convention Registration.  As a member of the Division III Management Council, you have been given VIP status.  Please follow the instructions below in order to complete the registration process successfully.

 

1.       When you first access the system, please make sure that you indicate that you are a Division III member and that you are completing a new registration. 

 

2.       Select the option “Management Council” on the next screen that pops up. 

 

3.       The next screen will ask you for a password.  Your password is NCAA2005.

 

4.       The next screen will ask for all of your personal information.  Please complete all required fields.  [Note:  At the bottom of this screen, you will be asked for a Username and a Password.  Please create one that you will remember.  You will use these to update your registration if the need arises.]

 

5.       Select those menu sessions that you wish to attend from the next screen and submit the information.

 

6.       The next screen will ask for hotel information.  Hotel reservations will be accepted only through the online hotel reservation process.  If you have questions regarding the hotel reservation process, please call Lisa LaMasney at Short’s Travel Management (800/417-2902).  Please note that as a Management Council member, your room accommodations will be charged to the NCAA master account for the nights that you are required to be in attendance.  The Gaylord Texas Resort has been designated as Convention headquarters-.  The governance staff will not be sending a separate room-reservation form for the January meetings.

 

7.       Convention Fees.  As a member of the Division III Management Council, your Convention registration fee is complimentary.  The delegates reception, which will be held Saturday, January 8, at the Gaylord Texan Resort is $20 per ticket.  Admittance for accompanying guests may also be purchased online for an additional $20.

 

The Honors Dinner will be held Sunday, January 9, at the Gaylord Texan Resort.  Tickets for the Honors Dinner are sold separately.  Tickets are $40 if purchased by Monday, November 15, 2004, or $50 if purchased after that date.
