2005 Timetable.

 

·                     Late January – Division III Championships and Membership Committees review survey results and Convention Forum feedback and provide recommendations to Oversight Group.

·                     February 15 – Oversight Group conference call to review survey results, Convention feedback, committee recommendations, updated timeline and plan for Virtual Focus Group (VFG) communication #4.

·                     February 18 – Distribute VFG communication #4 – Get Forum/survey results; prioritize specific issues.  Feedback due March 21.

·                     April 11-12Management Council review of Oversight Group recommendations.

·                     April 27 – Oversight group in-person meeting to review VFG feedback, membership communication and discuss topics for spring meeting/presentations.

·                     April 28 – Presidents Council meeting to review VFG feedback, approve membership communication and presentations.

·                     May 18 – Distribute Virtual focus group communication #5.  Feedback due June 8.

·                     May 25-26 – Membership update/discussion at NCAA Regional Seminar in San Francisco, CA.

·                     June 9-10 – Membership update/discussion at Division III Sports Information Directors Workshop in Hyannis, MA.

·                     June 13-14 – Membership update/discussion at Division III Commissioners meeting in Orlando, FL.

·                     June 15-18 – Membership update/discussion at NCAA Regional Seminar and NACDA Convention, Orlando, FL.

·                     June 20-30 – Division III Championships, Interpretations and Legislation and Membership Committee meetings.  Formal recommendations forwarded to Management Council and Oversight Group.

·                     July 15 – Membership deadline for submission of proposed legislation.

·                     July 19 – Management Council/SAAC meetings in Anaheim, CA.  Review VFG and membership feedback; committee recommendations and membership sponsored legislation.

·                     July 1-September 30 – Division-wide financial aid reporting process.

·                     August 3 – Oversight group in-person meeting in Indianapolis.  Review VFG and membership feedback, committee recommendations and applicable membership sponsored legislation.

·                     August 4 – Presidents Council meeting in Indianapolis. 

·                     Mid-August – Virtual focus group communication #6.  Strategies to engage campus constituents in dialogue prior to Convention related to recommendations and relevant membership sponsored legislation.

·                     September/October/November – Regional meetings; conference meetings of CEOs, FARs, athletics administrators and student-athletes.

·                     September 30 – Division-wide financial aid reporting process deadline.

·                     October 3-14 – Oversight group conference call.  Review VFG and membership feedback; recommendations and legislation; prepare for Convention presentation.


·                     October 8-11 – Membership update/discussion at NACWAA Fall Forum in Kansas City, MO.

·                     October 17-18Management Council review VFG and membership feedback; recommendations; application legislation and Convention presentation.

·                     October 26 – Oversight group in-person meeting in Indianapolis.  Review recommendations; applicable legislation; VFG and membership feedback; and plan 2006 Convention Sunday Forum session.

·                     October 27 – Presidents Council review and approval.

·                     November 1 – Governance structure deadline for submission of proposed legislation.

·                     November 10-12 – Membership update/discussion at FARA Fall Forum in San Diego, CA.

·                     Mid-November – Virtual focus group communication #7.  Review recommendations; legislation and discuss future directions for Division III.

·                     November – 2006 Convention schedule/program mailed to Division III CEOs, FARs, SWAs, student-athletes and conference commissioners.

·                     Late November – Membership communication of recommendations and legislation.

  • January 6-9 – 2006 NCAA Convention – Division III Forum –Final Report Update.  Recommendations and legislation, if applicable.
