INFORMATIONAL ITEMS.

1. Election of NCAA Division III Management Council Playing and Practice Seasons Subcommittee Chair. Kay Whitley, Sul Ross State University, was elected to serve as chair of the subcommittee.

2. Update on Football Walkthrough Issue. The subcommittee reviewed the concept of adding one-hour walkthroughs to the first five days of the football acclimatization period. The subcommittee requested a more definitive position from the Committee on Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspects of Sports on the addition of walkthroughs during the football acclimatization period. The subcommittee noted that an update from the NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Committee on Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspects of Sports will be provided at the next subcommittee teleconference.

3. Subcommittee Meeting Schedule. The subcommittee agreed to conduct its future in-person meetings on an as-needed basis, as dictated by the volume and timeliness of agenda items in each quarter. The subcommittee also meets by teleconference on a quarterly basis.
