Summary of Recommendations

ACTION ITEMS – MANAGEMENT COUNCIL ONLY

1.	ISSUE:		Sexual Orientation Presentation.
Management Council Action:
		The Council attended an educational session, "Helping Coaches, Faculty and Administrators Create a Safer Environment for Homosexual Student-Athletes," as recommended by the NCAA Committee on Women's Athletics and approved by the Management Councils in all three divisions.
2.	ISSUE:		NCAA Presidential Search Process.
Management Council Action:
		Reviewed the work to date of the NCAA search committee and timeline, noting that the work of the search committee is consistent with established timeline and that there were a total of 89 nominations and/or resumes submitted for the NCAA president position. The search committee will continue to review candidates at its July 22 conference call and August 9 in-person meeting.
3.	ISSUE:		Election of Management Council Vice-Chair.
Management Council Action:
		Elected Suzanne Coffey as vice-chair, effective at the post-Convention Council meeting. Susan Bassett will assume duties as chair for 2003-04 at the post-Convention Council meeting.
