Summary of Recommendations

 

 

PRESIDENTS COUNCIL ACTION ITEMS

 

1.  ISSUE:

2001-02 Fiscal Year Financial Results.  [Attachment A]

Committee Recommendation:

 

Review the preliminary 2001-02 fiscal year financial results of $10,659,000 in revenue and $11,192,465 in expenses.

 

Management Council Recommendation:

Approve the preliminary 2001-02 fiscal year financial results.

 

2.  ISSUE:

2002-03 Division III Proposed Budget.  [Attachment B]

Committee Recommendation:

 

Approve the 2002-03 reallocation recommendations of $101,750 plus $5000 overhead from the Initiatives Task Force, the establishment of championships contingency fund of $529,000 (5 percent of the championships budget) and the establishment of Future of Division III contingency fund of $200,000.

 

Management Council Recommendation:

Approve the 2002-03 reallocation recommendations of the Initiatives Task Force and additional expenses as amended:

 

·                Reduce championships contingency fund to $500,000 (four percent).

 

·                Reduce inflationary and enhancement increases for championships to four percent.

 

3.  ISSUE:

2003-04 Division III Proposed Budget.  [Attachment B]

Committee Recommendation:

 

Approve the 2003-04 reallocation recommendations of $670,000 plus $45,000 in overhead from the Initiatives Task Force, the championships contingency fund at 5 percent of the championships budget and Future of Division III contingency fund of $200,000.

 

Management Council Recommendation:

Approve the 2003-04 reallocation recommendation from the task force and additional expenses as amended:

 

·                Championships contingency fund at four percent.

 

4.  ISSUE:

Division III Reserve. 

Committee Recommendation:

 

Reaffirm the commitment that the reserve shall not fall below 15 percent in any two-year period through the 2002-06 budget cycles.

 

Management Council Recommendation:

Approve the recommendation to reaffirm the commitment to a 15 percent reserve.

Committee Action:

 

The committee discussed the possibility of an in-person meeting during the NCAA Convention.
