ACTION ITEMS – MANAGEMENT COUNCIL ONLY

 

1.  ISSUE:

Eligibility – 10-Semester Rule Waiver – Waiver Criteria.

Committee Recommendation:

 

Amend Bylaw 30.6 to clarify the current legislation to delete the five-year waiver criteria.

 

Management Council Action:

 

Approved the editorial revision, noting an immediate effective date and the source as the NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Reinstatement Committee.

 

2.  ISSUE:

Eligibility – Four-Year College Transfers.

Committee Recommendation:

 

Amend Bylaw 14.5.5.1 to clarify the current general rule for four-year college transfer regulations.

 

Management Council Action:

 

Approved the editorial revision, noting that if the eligibility exception is applicable it would be effective at the time of transfer.

 

3.  ISSUE:

Eligibility – Organized Competition – Outside Competition.

Committee Recommendation:

 

Amend Bylaws 14.02, 14.2.4 and 14.7.4.1 to clarify the current legislation in Bylaw 14 relating to seasons of competition, organized competition and outside competition, as specified.

Approved the editorial revision.


4.  ISSUE:

Membership – Emerging Sports for Women.

Committee Recommendation:

 

Amend Bylaws 20.02.5 and 20.02.5.1 to delete references to "sports sponsorship" and "revenue distribution" not applicable to Division III.

Approved the editorial revision.

 

5.  ISSUE:

Recruiting – Permissible Recruitment Activities for Student-Athletes – Telephone Calls to Prospective Student-Athletes.

Committee Recommendation:

 

Amend Bylaws 13.02.2.1 and 13.1.3 to clarify that enrolled student-athletes are permitted to make recruiting calls to prospective student-athletes with the knowledge of the athletics department or as participants of institutional admissions programs in which the general student body is permitted to telephone prospects.

6.  ISSUE:

Recruiting – Permissible Activities for Preseason Practice and Competition.

Committee Recommendation:

 

Amend Bylaw 13.12.2.1 to delete language that is not applicable to Division III.

1.  ISSUE:

Administrative Revisions.

Committee Action:

 

Amend Bylaws 30.01, 30.3.5, 30.6, 30.7.4 and 30.15 to clarify the current legislation in Bylaw 30, as specified.

2.  ISSUE:

Executive Regulations.

Committee Action:

 

Amend 31.1.1, 31.1.3.3, 31.1.6.2, 31.3.3, 31.3.3.4, 31.3.4.3, 31.4.6.2, 31.4.6.4, 31.4.8 and 31.7.2.1.1 to clarify the current legislation in Bylaw 31.

3.  ISSUE:

Playing and Practice Seasons – Football – First Contest.

Committee Recommendation:

 

Amend Bylaw 17.11.3 to clarify that the first permissible contest in football may not be conducted prior to the Friday or Saturday 11 weeks before the first round of the Division III Football Championship.

4.  ISSUE:

Playing and Practice Seasons – Maximum Limitations – Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field.

Committee Recommendation:

 

Amend 17.26.5.1 and 17.26.5.2 to clarify that the maximum contest limitation in track and field applies to both indoor and outdoor combined, rather than separately.
