COMMITTEE INFORMATION FOR INDIVIDUALS INTERESTED IN POSSIBLY SERVING ON NCAA COMMITTEES
NUMBER OF COMMITTEE MEMBERS
GENERAL DUTIES OF COMMITTEE MEMBERS
Serve as the regional chairperson
Ensure representation from each conference and the independents in the region
Instruct new regional members on the ranking procedures
Ensure follow up with regional institutions who are not reporting or are reporting incorrectly
Set up the monthly calls for regional rankings through premier conferencing
Coordinate the monthly calls to ensure that NCAA guidelines are followed in the ranking process
Prepare the final ranking report to be sent to the NCAA national committee following each monthly ranking
Serve on the national committee
Report the regional rankings to the national committee on the monthly national call
Review other region rankings and ensure that the process is consistent among regions
Participate in the national selection of teams for the championship
Make recommendations of officials for the championship
Select host site for the championship
Make rules modifications
Serve as the NCAA Representative at the Championship
Championship (with other members of the committee)
Participate in a pre tournament conference call
Oversee practices
Attend banquet
Assist with all aspects of the conduct of the tournament as referenced in the handbook and manuals
Oversee all press activities
Oversee conduct of the games
Assist with television requirements
Collect all evaluation forms and information
Participate in annual committee meeting (summer)
Attend annual meeting
Make recommendations for changes in conduct of championship as applicable
Review site and officials' evaluations from the championship (all rounds)
Review misconduct issues
Update all manuals and handbooks for future use
