Division II Field Hockey Committee Duties & Responsibilities

COMMITTEE INFORMATION FOR INDIVIDUALS INTERESTED IN POSSIBLY SERVING ON NCAA COMMITTEES

NUMBER OF COMMITTEE MEMBERS:

GENERAL DUTIES OF COMMITTEE MEMBERS:

Championship season including selections:
- Serve as chairs of respective regional advisory committees.
- Evaluate teams throughout the season.
- Participate on numerous regional and national conference calls including ranking calls.
- Assist other committee members with the selection of teams and creation of the bracket.
- Attend the Division II Field Hockey Championship.
Non-championship season:
- Develop and review agenda items for the annual meeting.
- Attend annual meeting.
- Participate on conference calls as needed.

CHAMPIONSHIP DATES AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES/NUMBER OF DAYS YOU ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND:

Serve as site representatives to preliminary rounds of competition, if possible. Preliminary round competition is held the first Saturday in November.
Attend the Division II Field Hockey Championships which begin the second Friday in November (arriving Wednesday morning and departing the following Sunday evening or Monday morning.) Committee members serve as the games committee at the championships.

NUMBER OF IN-PERSON MEETINGS PER YEAR:

Attend the annual committee meeting in late-January (four days).
The chair attends the field hockey coaches? annual meeting (two days second week of January.)

NUMBER OF CONFERENCE CALLS PER YEAR:

Committee members are required to participate on weekly (sometimes bi-weekly) scheduled conference calls during the season. They are also required to complete a conference call with their regional advisory committee prior to the national conference call. These calls are usually scheduled on a Tuesday and last approximately one hour.
Other conference calls are scheduled as necessary.
