Division I Men's Ice Hockey Committee Duties & Responsibilities
COMMITTEE INFORMATION FOR INDIVIDUALS INTERESTED IN POSSIBLY SERVING ON NCAA COMMITTEES

GENERAL DUTIES OF COMMITTEE MEMBERS:
CHAMPIONSHIP DATES AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES/NUMBER OF DAYS YOU ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND:
Attend the entire Men?s Frozen Four championship week (arriving on Tuesday afternoon and leaving on Sunday morning). The championship is held the second Thursday and Saturday in April.
Attend one of the regional sites. There are four regional sites. Competition is conducted either Friday-Saturday or Saturday Sunday (two weekends prior to the Men?s Frozen Four). Committee members usually arrive the day before competition to attend practices and chair the coaches? meeting and leave after the regional final. Committee members act as the NCAA representative at these games.
NUMBER OF IN-PERSON MEETINGS PER YEAR:
Attend the selection meeting in Bristol, Connecticut, in March (Saturday-Sunday on the third weekend).
Attend the annual committee meeting in June (four days, Tuesday-Friday, typically the first or second full week).
The chair attends the American Hockey Coaches Association Convention in Naples, Florida (two days during third full week of April).
NUMBER OF CONFERENCE CALLS PER YEAR:
Committee members are required to participate on regional advisory committee calls prior to each national call and approximately six national committee calls (mid-January to mid-March) prior to selection. The regional calls are typically on Mondays or Tuesdays (just prior to the national calls). The national calls are generally every other Tuesday.
The chair participates on approximately three additional calls with the local organizing committee for the current year's championship.
OTHER COMMENTS:
- For the administrators on the committee, it is helpful if they have a hockey background (e.g., coach, player, etc.) or if they oversee the sport on their campus
