Division I Women's Ice Hockey Committee Duties & Responsibilities
COMMITTEE INFORMATION FOR INDIVIDUALS INTERESTED IN POSSIBLY SERVING ON NCAA COMMITTEES

GENERAL DUTIES OF COMMITTEE MEMBERS:
CHAMPIONSHIP DATES AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES/NUMBER OF DAYS YOU ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND:
Attend the Women's Frozen Four (arriving two days prior to the start of the championships and leaving after the conclusion of the event.) The championship currently takes place the fourth Friday and Sunday in March.
Attend selected regionals. If proposed bracket expansion is approved, committee members serve as site representatives at one of the regional sites in their respective regions. Committee members typically arrive the day prior to the start of the regionals to attend practices and conduct a pretournament meeting. They will depart after the conclusion of the event. Regionals are a one-day event and take place the week prior to finals competition (Friday, Saturday or Sunday).
NUMBER OF IN-PERSON MEETINGS PER YEAR:
Attend the annual committee meeting in June (four days during the first or second week in June).
The chair attends the American Hockey Coaches Association Convention (two days during third week of April).
The chair also attends site visits to selected championship sites as needed (two or three days in August or September).
The chair also may attend selections in Indianapolis the Sunday before start of championship competition.
NUMBER OF CONFERENCE CALLS PER YEAR:
Committee members are required to participate on six regional advisory committee calls and six national committee calls (December through March) prior to selections. The regional calls are conducted on Tuesday and national calls on Wednesday. These calls typically last 60 to 90 minutes.
Committee members also participate on the selection call, which takes place the Sunday prior to the start of competition. The selection call may take several hours.
OTHER COMMENTS:
Regional advisory committee experience is preferred, but not required.
Basic computer and e-mail skills are encouraged.
