NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Recruiting Calendar

August 1, 2007 - July 31, 2008

The dates in this calendar reflect the application of Bylaw 30.10 at the time of publication of this Manual but are subject to change per Constitution 5.2.3.1 or if certain dates change (e.g., National Letter of Intent signing dates) are altered.


(a)     August 1 through September 15, 2007:


Quiet Period


(b)     September 16, 2007, through April 22, 2008, [except
          for (1) through (6) below]:

          Women's basketball staff members shall not exceed
          100 recruiting-person days.  A recruiting person day 
          is defined as one coach engaged in an off-campus
          recruiting activity of a women's basketball prospect
          on one day; two coaches engaged in recruiting
          activities on the same day shall use two recruiting
          days.


Evaluation Period


          (1)    Those days from September 16, 2007, through
                   April 22, 2008, not designated above for
                   contact or evaluation purposes:


Quiet Period


          (2)    September 16 through October 6, 2007:*
              
                   *September 28-30, 2007:  Evaluations permitted 
                     at nonscholastic women's basketball events.

          (3)    November 12-15, 2007: 

          (4)    December 24-26, 2007:

          (5)    March 1 through April 3, 2008:
                
          (6)    April 4-17, 2008, [except for (a) and (b) below]:

                   (a)   One women's basketball event certified by
                           the NCAA (Bylaw 30.18) held in conjunction
                           with, and conducted in the host city of the
                           NCAA Division I Women's Basketball
                           Championship:       

                   (b)   April 11-13, 2008:

          Note:  Evaluations permitted at nonscholastic 
                    women's basketball events - April 18-20, 2008.

         (1)    It is permissible for an institution to have contact 
                 with a prospect who is enrolled in the institution's
                 summer term (i.e., summer session or summer
                 bridge program) and has signed a National
                 Letter of Intent or other written commitment 
                 to attend the institution. 

 


(f)      July 22-31, 2008:

Exceptions

1.       Evaluations are permitted during the National Junior College Athletic Association
          championship competition.

2.       Evaluations are permissible in the following states only during the time periods listed,
          provided evaluations outside of the July period are counted toward the 100 recruiting-
          person days set forth above:

          Hawaii:

March 1-May 31 and July 8-31


          All states (except Hawaii) that play the 
          high school basketball season in the 
          spring:


April 8-28 and July 8-31
