Division I Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is the highest board of the legislative body. This committee consists of Presidents and Chancellors from 18 member institutions. While no members of Division I National SAAC serve directly to this committee, we provide insightful feedback through documents and business events to provide the group with important information on behalf of student-athletes.
Division I Management Council (ManCo)
Management Council is one of the two legislative bodies of Division I. It consists of 49 representatives who hold significant administrative roles within the association?s member institutions and conferences. Management Council helps to review and enact new legislation within collegiate athletics. The Chair and Vice Chair of Division I National SAAC serve on this committee.
Student-Athlete Reinstatement Committee (SAR)
The Student-Athlete Reinstatement Committee determines if a student-athlete can retain eligibility due to an NCAA rules infraction or violation. Waivers are also used in cases of medical hardships and season of competition requests.
Committee on Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspects of Sports (CSMAS)
The Committee on Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspects of Sports provides expertise and leadership to the association in order to promote a healthy and safe environment for student-athletes through research, education, collaboration and policy development.
NCAA Sportsmanship and Ethical Conduct Committee
The Sportsmanship and Ethical Conduct Committee?s mission is to improve the condition of sportsmanship and ethical conduct in all aspects of intercollegiate athletics by developing and implementing strategies that foster greater acceptance of the value of respect, fairness, civility, honesty and responsibility.
Football Issues Committee
The Football Issues Committee provides feedback from athletic administrators and coaches, and student-athletes standpoints on issues and rules regarding the sport of football. The committee has members representing the Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly 1A) and the Football Championship Subdivision (formerly 1-AA).
Academics/Eligibility/Compliance Cabinet
The Academics/ Eligibility/Compliance Cabinet is an association wide committee that reports on the issues surrounding collegiate athletics in regards to each of the above categories. There are four subcommittees, which deal specifically with certain topics, and one Division I National SAAC representative sits on each committee.

Men's Basketball Issues Committee
The Men?s Basketball Issues Committee ensures that appropriate oversight of the sport of men?s basketball is maintained, with emphasis on recruiting activities, enhancing the development and public perception of the sport and making recommendations on policy issues unrelated to legislative and playing rules changes.
Championships/Competition Cabinet & Playing and Practice Seasons Subcommittee
The Championships/Competition Cabinet and Playing and Practice Seasons Subcommittee coordinates the structure of championships (i.e. NCAA Men?s Basketball Championship) and to develop playing and practice seasons which will allow competition to exist between member schools. They also help determine rules, issues, sportsmanship, Olympic sports conflicts, and squad sizes.
Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee
The Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee reviews issues related to the interests of ethnic minority student-athletes, NCAA minority programs and NCAA policies that affect ethnic minorities. They focus on the education and welfare of minority student-athletes, as well as the enhancement of opportunities for ethnic minorities and women in coaching, athletics administration, officiating and the NCAA governance structure.
Committee on Women's Athletics
The mission of the NCAA Committee on Women's Athletics is to provide leadership and assistance to the association in its efforts to provide equitable opportunities, fair treatment and respect for all women in all aspects of intercollegiate athletics. They also make policy recommendations concerning opportunities for women in athletics at the institutional, conference and national levels, as well as other issues directly affecting women's athletics.
Women's Basketball Issues Committee
The mission of the committee is to ensure appropriate oversight of the sport of women's basketball is maintained, with emphasis on recruiting activities, enhance the development and public perception of the sport; and make recommendations on policy issues unrelated to legislative and playing rules changes. They also provide leadership to create and advance an intercollegiate environment that assures quality academic and competitive experiences for student-athletes and supports the game of basketball in a manner that promotes excellence, fairness, integrity and a commitment to education.
Olympic Sports Liaison Committee
The purpose of the Olympic Sports Liaison Committee is to facilitate communication and understanding between the NCAA, the USOC and the national governing bodies in facilitating the best possible development of elite athletes within the contact of the Inca?s commitment to education and a broad-based development of all student-athletes.

Administrative Subcommittee
The SAAC Administrative Committee has the responsibility of reviewing and finalizing information that comes forth from Division National SAAC, as well as selecting new members to the committee.
Website Team Subcommittee
The Division I National SAAC website team works towards keeping the Division I SAAC homepage up to date and full of educational resources for other student-athletes.
Strategic Planning Subcommittee
The Strategic Planning Subcommittee ensures that the overall goals and objective of National SAAC are being met through the continual review and development of the annual strategic plan.
Joint SAAC ? One Representative per Division
There is one Joint SAAC Representative selected from the three divisional committees. Each representative is responsible for reporting to the Joint SAAC at all National SAAC meetings. They help provide insight on what topics and issues each division is discussing and enables the entire body of student-athletes representatives to collaborate together on a common goal.
