In addition to her involvement in track and field, Emily lettered in cross country during her first two years at Luther and remains active in the program as an assistant to the cross country coaches. She is the president of Luther's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and a co-leader of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), which promotes camaraderie among the Christian population of student-athletes on campus.

Outside of athletics, Emily serves as a student representative to the Luther College Wellness Team, a group of faculty, staff and students that work to increase awareness and program wellness activities on campus. She begins her third year of service to the Luther College Honor Council and her first as chair. The group deals with all breaches of academic integrity that occur at the college.

Emily is a double major in physical education and health with an emphasis in exercise science and wellness. Her career aspiration is to be a collegiate track and field coach.
