NCAA Legislation and Governance

Legislation and Governance ImageThe Association's governance structure consists of division-wide legislative bodies, as well as an Executive Committee that serves as the highest governing body for the NCAA. Committees also are in place to oversee sports rules and conduct championships. Association-wide groups such as the Committee on Women's Athletics and the Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee, examine issues specific to a certain segment of the NCAA membership. Student-athletes at each division are represented in the Association's governance structure through the Student-Athlete Advisory Committees. All of the Association's governing bodies strive to promote student-athlete welfare through legislation and program initiatives.
